Through our affiliate Montanino Forest Management, we own and manage a 373ha forest in the Province of Pisa, Tuscany, focusing on maximization of ecosystem services such as Carbon sequestration and Biodiversity increase.
Our Preservation and Reforestation activities with native species improve Biodiversity, Carbon sequestration, forest health, and resilience to climate change.
All forest biomass resulting from forest operations is deployed to permanent storage of Carbon in the form of Biochar – no thermo-valorization.
A custom Biochar facility for the transformation of 2,000 tons of biomass/year is being prototyped for us by an international supplier and expected to become operational in the second half of 2026.
The forest is FSC certified (FSC C181022) as part of the Etifor Group of Sustainable Forests.
